One year of diaristic photography Journal about Birmingham, the United Kingdom. It is Designed to encourage middle eastern expatriates, to enjoy living in the city, discovering the resulting impact when east meet the west in some pictures, and on the other hand, explore the west suburban and urban life. The Book contains more than 50 images taken by both Canon 5D and Lieca D-Lux4.
Urban and suburb photography could be descriptive ( makes a record), ironic (distanced from the subject matter), aesthetic which means shooting beautiful things in a beautiful way. such as nature, and ethically evaluative (tries to produce improvements in society)
Experience
I simply got myself lost on foot, on a bicycle and by a car with my hero and my two girls. Though it was fun and daring, there were times that made me feel guilty to force my girls to come with us while they were ill. Both of them got chickenpox that year !
What I have learnt
1- always take my compact with me.
2- show confidence to the public while taking pictures.
3- be quick, golden opportunities may never come again.
4- better to hide people’s identity if I’m intending to sell my photos.
5- be aware of the law when shooting famous landmarks.
6- best time to shoot is before sunset.
7- sharp midday shadows may give a great addition to emphasize on my main subjects.
8- overcast weather is good for closer photographs.
9- Using a wide-angle lens makes a successful photograph rather than a telephoto because it gives the feeling of the photographer and the viewer being part of the scene.
10- never believe a book printing company promise to finish your book within 2 days.
11- enjoy what I’m doing.
